چکیده

Recent progress in the treatment of advanced melanoma has led to improved survival affected patients. However, novel treatments also lead considerable and distinct skin toxicity. To further characterize cutaneous adverse events (AE) systemic treatments, we conducted a single-center retrospective study biopsy-proven over period 10 years at University Hospital Zurich, Switzerland. In 102 identified patients, 135 individual AEs developed. Immune checkpoint blockade (ICB) was causal for 81 AEs, 54 were related targeted therapies (TT). Recorded types included lichenoid, maculopapular, acneiform, urticarial, panniculitis, folliculitis, psoriasiform, granulomatous, eczematous, others. The incidence higher with TT (18.54%) than ICB (9.64%, p = 0.0029). Most low-grade, although 19.21% common terminology criteria (CTCAE) Grades 3 or 4. A large spectrum documented during melanoma, phenotypes observed, depending on classes. occurred earlier ICB, associated respective This comprehensively describes occurring single center.

Systemic treatments for advanced cutaneous melanoma.

The treatment of advanced cutaneous melanoma remains disappointing. Single-agent cytotoxic drugs usually produce response rates of less than 20%, though newer agents, particularly fotemustine and temozolomide, show some promise, especially in patients with brain metastases. Combination chemotherapy regimens yield response rates of 20% to 40%, but durable complete remissions are uncommon. Interf...

Endocrine-related adverse events following ipilimumab in patients with advanced melanoma: a comprehensive retrospective review from a single institution.

Novel immune checkpoint blockade with ipilimumab, an antibody blocking the cytotoxic T-lymphocyte antigen 4 (CTLA4), is revolutionizing cancer therapy. However, ipilimumab induces symptomatic, sometimes severe, endocrine immune-related adverse events (irAEs) that are inconsistently recognized and reported. The objective of this review was to comprehensively characterize the incidence, presentat...
